I’m Alex Dayel, founder of LOCS and lifelong fan of academic competitions — especially history and geography. I’ve competed twice at Nationals, started my own school team, and now I’m helping host our first regional tournament. Along the way, I’ve met some incredible students, coaches, and mentors who all share one thing in common: we love learning and testing ourselves. Here, I’ll share stories from competitions, lessons learned from studying, travel diaries from events, and reflections on what it means to grow through challenge. You’ll also hear from other competitors across the League who are unlocking their own paths.
